The Children's Hour collections transport us back in time to the simplicity of evenings gathered around the fire with family for reading, stories, songs, games, and handicrafts.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow recounts:

Between the dark and the daylight,

When the night is beginning to lower,

Comes a pause in the day's occupations,

That is known as the Children's Hour.

Before the distractions of smart phones, television, or even radio, this communal gathering was the heartbeat of the family. It was a time to share news, engage in conversations, build traditions, and rest after a long day's work.

The Children's Hour is a seasonal collection of ideas and inspiration for modern families to reclaim the beauty and goodness of what has been lost with the advent of technology. It inspires families to engage in meaningful conversations about the arts, culture, and current events through folktales, folk song, seasonal poetry selections, and the study of a diverse set of poets, composers, and artists.

The Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer Collections are available as an instant download.

If you order the PRINTED Children's Hour, you will receive 4 separate bound books with each seasonal issue.

FINALLY - My Favorite Resource

I am in LOVE! For the crafty nature loving story-telling mama (or dad) these magazines she created for family time is just...utterly beautiful on so many levels. And then she has her main site that has TONS of unit studies that are just engaging and beautifully crafted. I think I have found someone who has captured my teaching style (and aesthetic). For me the all too common bubble letters and primary colored worksheets designed to look fun for kids don't get me all that excited. THESE resources get me excited to get out of bed, pour a cup of tea, and jump into learning. I just *chef's kiss*. I am convinced if these were in a bookstore they would sell like hot cakes. We are definitely going to order printed copies to keep forever.

Amazing

I didn’t know what to expect when I bought the winter edition. I thought it might be something I would look at, take a couple ideas, and disregard. I was absolutely amazed at the beauty and care that went into this. I love that it raises black voices and voices of other non-white artists (used broadly—poetry, music, painting). We have loved learning about the Harlem Renaissance. Even though I’m a fan of jazz and a fan of Langston Hughes, I learned so much about the Harlem Renaissance. Really well-done.
